So, I accidently read news about the news today and it began to click in my mind. I suddenly realized the old guard of social media VC deal flow underbelly are now considered the media heirs apparent mouthpieces and proxies where of those that were, at best, journalism adjacent have somehow mysteriously ascended into media leadership roles that I did not forsee… as somehow the patina or simulacrum of credentials is no longer of profound importance… unless this is all a simulation universe based upon satirical black comedy film genres of the 1990s. In which case, move along, move along… something something ninjas disguised as a hedge meme.

luma.com UX makes it effortless to add events to calendars on Google or Outlook or iCal… and every other meeting app should mercilessly copy them… but I guess they will be sold off to a larger platform that will end the reign of awesome UX

#gotosocialadmin updated shell scripts for #gotosocial upgrades and downgrades that assume your config.yaml is compliant else you’ll have to make the right edits then run sudo systemctl start gotosocial and monitor any database upgrades with sudo journalctl -u gotosocial -e -n 10 --no-pager

TIL a domain name I registered 25+ years ago with Network Solutions, Inc. (and never renewed) is still being used as a keyword in spam to my original admin, tech, and billing email addresses.

Email delivery is sometimes not good.

Emails like hotel confirmation and cancellation notices are useful.

I stay in Marriott properties or Hilton depending on the best prices. I’ve lived years of my life in each. So, it can be a coin flip.

Welp…

At some point in mid Februrary 2026, res-marriott.com domain ran afoul of whatever Google Workspace decided was not strict enough SPF, DKIM, DMARC, or whatever passes for the growing list of being this tall to ride that delivery ride for reservations@res-marriott.com .

At the minimum… these… but I am guessing something else is b0rked:

  • SPF and DKIM authentication
  • From: header alignment
  • DMARC authentication
  • Encryption
  • User-reported spam rate
  • DNS records
  • One-click unsubscribe
  • Honor unsubscribe

So, I’m trading emails with Bonvoy support as a Lifetime Titanium Elite member so that I can get a confirmation email by hunting down Message ID logs since February 2026.

Notably, other less useful marketing materials from marriott.com and similar communications are just fine. For now?
