Gina (Gina Minks) Rosenthal

  • Over 10 years’ experience as a global and fractional product marketing manager for global technology companies (up to 120K employees) as well as and startups.
  • Over the last 5 years leading Digital Sunshine Solutions, generated over 150 blog posts, 26 case studies, and a range of messaging documents, launch plans, white papers, product datasheets, and solution briefs.
  • Bootstrapped quarterly cross-company “Think Tanks” to create strong feedback loops between executives, product, marketing, and engineering teams.
  • Created technical content and improved product positioning using sales and customer feedback. Served as the voice of the customer for enterprise clients exploring SaaS products.
  • Planned, researched, and developed over twenty podcast episodes covering AI and infrastructure over two years.

The experience on my resume is definitely not traditional! But because there is a string connecting it all, I bring a unique blend of technical expertise and creative marketing strategy to the table. With over a decade of experience working with industry leaders like EMC, Dell, and VMware, I’ve honed an in-depth understanding of the challenges IT executives face—and more importantly, how to solve them. However, since I come from a sysadmin/operator audience, I easily craft messaging that resonates and builds trust with them too.

Founding and leading Digital Sunshine Solutions for five years is one of the most fulfilling and proudest milestones of my career. Over the last five years, our team executed six product launches, developed over 150 blog posts, 26 case studies, and countless white papers, solution briefs, and product datasheets. And our work drove real impact. One of our clients saw a 150% growth in their social media presence!

I’m passionate about innovation and collaboration, particularly in areas like artificial intelligence and infrastructure technology. I want to connect the dots between complex products and the human stories they power. I believe there is infinite power in connecting everyone, inside and outside of an organization.

If you’re interested in telling the story of how your product turns customers in the hero of their own journey, let’s talk!

📈 Markets Monday for 2024-12-23

As a reminder, this is an end of day snapshot…

Quick Recap

For Market Monday, I continue to look at the same key indicator that I take from a simple Yahoo Finance webpage each week. It’s how I look at things through the lens of the closing bell on Monday.

Last week, Yahoo Screener (now part of “Research Hub”) has changed the layout options…

19 spicy stocks
Last week? Spicy level 19… and quite the combo!

This week, I’m doing a similar screenshot and deep link.

6 spicy stocks
This week? Spicy level 6… and quantum remains in the top 2!

Previously, I decided on a view from Yahoo Finance. For example, this was a view of intraday in Technology which usually gets around a dozen or so interesting companies when the market is moving and a smaller handful of companies when the market is not moving as much.

If you are using Yahoo Applied Filters for Stocks screener you can bookmark your own heat map view.

  • % Change in Price (Intraday):greater than 4

  • Region: United States

  • Market Cap (Intraday): Mid Cap and Large Cap and Mega Cap

  • Price (Intraday):greater than or equal 5

  • Volume:greater than 15000

  • Sector: Technology

  • Industry: Software—Infrastructure and Information Technology Services and Computer Hardware and Software—Application and Communication Equipment and Electronics & Computer Distribution and Consumer Electronics and Electronic Components and Scientific & Technical Instruments and Semiconductor Equipment & Materials and Semiconductors

🔙 Throwback Thursday for 2024-12-26

I was born in 1972. So was SAP.

20-ish years later, my early career started at Nortel Networks. By 1998, CRM and computer telephony interface (CTI) had become a big thing while the word Internet occurred ~35 times in the Nortel Networks Annual Report that year.

By 1999, CRM was big enough that Nortel Networks went on to buy Clarify.

https://www.cnet.com/tech/tech-industry/nortel-to-buy-software-maker-clarify/

At that time, I decided to leave Nortel Networks and chase .com consulting dreams for a few years as a globe trotting consultant. Meanwhile, SAP and Nortel did a CRM deal.

https://www.cnet.com/tech/tech-industry/sap-signs-software-deal-with-nortel/

A fear years later, SAP and the Nortel Networks + Clarify deal fell apart. So too did my .com dreams.

https://www.cnet.com/tech/tech-industry/sap-show-to-focus-on-e-business/

By 2009, Nortel no longer existed and I had been steadily heading in the direction of hybrid cloud services. Oddly enough, SAP was headed that way too.

✅ Final Thoughts Friday for 2024-12-27

🔮 Sneak Peak Saturday for 2024-12-28

By Friday, everything seems to be reaching the peak of getting news turned in before a deadline or dread-line. It sometimes seems like we reach a fever pitch in news coverage throughout the week.

Peak 🏔️ vs. Peek 👀

Then there is a trope, cliché, or bromide about slow news days and the quietly mentioned news updates sent on a Friday — to try and sneak it past wider coverage. Or, in a nutshell, peak patronizing publishing.

In that spirit, here are a few stories that you might have missed on the slow news of a Friday.
